I'm not quite sure whether you really understand the concept of didactic templates, as to what they're supposed to do.
Maybe I'm wrong but I think what you want to do can simply be done by roles.
Didactic templates are needed if, i.e., you want to automate changes in the permission settings of objects.
Otherwise, you could simply configure the roles in the way you want.
Example: Usually, your "global read" role can only access tests ... but with some tests, they are supposed to have access to results. In that case, you would create a didactic template like "Results accessible for 'global read' role" and apply that template while creating the test.
Also, I don't understand the meaning of "it keeps overwriting itself".
Maybe you can add some more details.
Anyway, instead of "overwrite" there two different other types:
- "union" adds permissions a role already has to those granted by the didactic template.
- "intersect" only leaves permissions which are included in the role and the template.
