Administration - Installation - Core: Re: Reset the default role "User"

Hi,
There is no "reset" option in ILIAS to get back to the initial permission setting. I see two options:

1. You create a new client on your ILIAS installation, go to Administration » Roles and use the settings of the "User" role to adapt the settings on your installation.


2. or you import this original user role into your installation and copy its permission settings to your user role.

At least, the "Default Permissions" of the user role are quite easy to reproduce:

• Tab "Repository Permissions": as "User" is the default role for the regular learner, the role has VISIBLE and READ permissions for almost all repository objects - except for those who are tutor objects like all three pools, the individual assessment and portfolio templates. No permissions are also given for the section "Roles". For Course and Group only VISIBLE and JOIN is given (because READ permission is assigned by the member role).


• Tab "Administration Permissions": only two permissions are given by default: "Internal Mail" in section "Mail" and "Search" in section "Search".


• In Tab "Edit Properties" the option "Available in registration form for new users" is activated to allow self-registration (if enabled).
