Administration - Installation - Core: Mysql 8 Ilias 6

I have a question and i'd
be really glad if you would help me out with this.
I can't get ilias to communicate with Mysql 8, with 5.6 and
5.7 no problem at all. DB and Character Collation is
configured the same in all these mysql versions i've tried.
I'm testing in localhost/local environement. Is there any
thing extra that must be done to get Mysql 8 to
communicate/connect with ilias ? Like specific verison of OS
or PHP ??? I'm currently on Ubuntu 20.04.1 , php 7.3,
apache2.
Another question i have is about utfmb4 , in this

he configures ilias with utfmb4 ?? is this possible ??
because i've tried with mysql 5.6 and 5.7 and Ilias connects
to the db but an error comes out during installation and the
db doesn't install succsessfully. I've also tried converting
the DB post-installation and ilias works but emojis after
saving are shown as ?.
This is really a powerful lms but i can't seem to find
answers anywhere about such questions or workarounds i'm
trying.
