Your preferred web server will most likely support something similar. You can change the target to whatever you prefer to be your landing page; even a static html page might be desireable.
N.b. you can design the log in page as you wish under Admin -> Authentication and Registration -> Authentication -> Loginscreen Editor and under Repository -> Repository - Home -> Customize page you can add some beautiy to your "public area" page. In order for this to work, you need to enable Enable Content Editing in Repository in Admin -> Editing -> ILIAS Page Editor -> Repository Pages
